Tattoo Aftercare

My aftercare instructions are carefully curated between years of tattooing and medical experience to help you get the best possible results in healing your new tattoo from start to finish.

Topical Care

Keep the tattoo site clean and moisturized until at least the end of the healing process (14 days).

Clean at least twice a day minimum with unscented antibacterial soap* and lukewarm water. Pat the tattoo dry with a clean towel afterwards.

Apply a thin layer of unscented lotion** to the tattoo site to keep it moisturized when it starts to dry out. You want to moisturize it to keep it from scabbing.

Avoid soaking your tattoo in any bodies of water including (but not limited to): oceans, lakes, ponds, puddles, rivers, creeks, canals, streams, pools, hot tubs, bath tubs, kitchen sinks, toilets, fish tanks, and port-a-potties. Unfiltered water contains bacteria which could lead to infection of your tattoo if exposed.

DO NOT SCRATCH THE TATTOO OR PICK AT ANY SCABS THAT MAY FORM! This may cause scarring and premature aging of your tattoo, as well as, cause ink to be pulled out of your tattoo during the healing process requiring a touchup and restarting the healing process.

Recommended Soap*: Dial Gold Antibacterial

Recommended Lotion**: Hustle Butter Deluxe

Recovery Derm

The first sheet will be applied to your tattoo by the artist at the shop. Removal of that sheet needs to happen 24 hours after initial application.

Using a mixture of unscented soap and warm water, gently work up an edge of the film and firmly grasp it. You want to gently stretch out the film along your body, not out from it.

Once the film is removed, gently wash the area with the unscented soap and warm water. Make sure the soap is completely washed off and pat the tattoo dry when finished.

Take the second sheet you were given and carefully apply it to your tattoo. Take special care to avoid air bubbles or wrinkles. Once the film is applied, keep it on for 4-5 days before removing it. Removal of the second sheet is identical to the first one.

Proceed to follow Topical Aftercare instructions for 2 days after the second film comes off.

During the process of wearing the film over your tattoo you will notice a slight buildup of fluids. That's normal. Your body is sending blood cells to the area to create a scab, but we have already created an artificial scab with the film.

If at any point you appear to have an allergic reaction to the film, REMOVE IT IMMEDIATELY! Proceed to follow Topical Aftercare instructions during healing process.
